Rahel Kindermann is an entrepreneur, former musician, certified systemic coach, change manager, and holds a master's degree in leadership and management. As a private pilot, she always had a vision and desire, her personal True North Star: to land a plane on a highway in Alaska. Tools from the cockpit, such as the success principle, ultimately helped her realize this vision in 2022.

Rahel Kindermann has been Managing Director of FRZ Flughafenregion Zürich – Economic Network & Location Development since May 2023.

Career & Experience

  • From 2005 to 2021, she worked at Flughafen Zürich AG, most recently as Head of Visitor Services & Events, where she organized major events (e.g., "70 Years of the Airport") and played a key role in setting up the visitor service and the B viewing terrace.
  • From 2009 to 2019, she was team leader in the Care Team at Swiss International Air Lines, responsible for supporting passengers and their families in crisis situations.
  • Prior to joining FRZ, she led a team of around 70 employees in the Coaching & Education department of the City of Zurich.
  • At the same time, she founded her company #clearedtoland.ch, where she combines her interest in aviation, coaching, and change management and transfers knowledge from aviation ("from the cockpit") to professional and everyday life.

Rahel Kindermann's lectures and workshops are uniquely emotional and informative, opening our eyes to important topics such as meaning and purpose in our daily work. It is not uncommon for a lecture or workshop to raise questions about a new direction in our professional or private lives. After all, what is your "purpose," your "why" as an organization, as a team, and/or as a person? What do we get up for in the morning, and what are we passionate about?

Rahel Kindermann Lecture Topics

  • The North Star Journey – How do you set and achieve goals with your team?
  • Ready for takeoff: To reach new heights, jettison ballast
  • Team communication: Clarity creates scope
  • Willpower, courage, perseverance, and decision-making: Decision-making under pressure
  • Reset your compass: The flight plan to success
  • Change the Flight Plan: What is your Plan B for the unexpected?

In aviation, the course that points directly across the geographic meridian to the geographic North Pole is called True North and forms the basis for flight planning by pilots. Due to disruptive influences that can cause a deviation from the flight course—including wind, which pilots must "steer against"—the steering course almost always differs from the actual "True North course line."

It is therefore important to factor these "disruptions" into flight planning and to correct the course accordingly during the journey in order to reach the destination as planned. The same applies to achieving the vision, the True North Star. The parallels in professional and private everyday life.
